Education
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Queen’s University in 2021. I am currently working towards completion of my Master of Science in Psychotherapy at McMaster University.
Work
My keen interest in psychology and the human mind was fortified after I spent time conducting psychological research on depression in my undergraduate years. I learned about the importance of understanding mental health and the profound impact of compassion and support on an individual’s well-being.
Since then, I have been dedicated to providing mental health support in various settings including academia, private practice, and non-profit organizations. My professional pursuits have shaped my person-centered, collaborative, and empathetic approach to support people and to help them foster rich and meaningful lives. I believe every person has the capacity to reach their goals and grow.
In my past roles, I was a Crisis Responder for The Kids Help Phone and a Group Facilitator at the Centre for Grief and Healing. Throughout my experiences, I have had the opportunity to work with diverse populations including youth, individuals with depression and anxiety, individuals experiencing bereavement, and mothers with postpartum mental health concerns.
I recognize that every person has a unique identity and set of life experiences, worldviews, and perspectives that I value and celebrate. I believe in the importance of individualized, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed care to ensure my therapeutic approach promotes and respects the diversity of each client.
Personal Life
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, exercising at the gym, catching up on a docuseries or being immersed in a good book. I value self-care and I like to journal, attend yoga classes, and practice mindfulness. Travelling and cooking are also passions of mine. I recently perfected my Spicy Vodka Rigatoni.
