Work Experience
From a young age, I have been drawn to helping others and being a confidant. My experiences have shown me the importance of a safe place and self-reflection. It is a privilege to be a support person and it has motivated me to provide a collaborative, engaging, empathetic approach to foster improvement in individuals’ quality of life.
In my undergrad, I was a teaching assistant for two second-year psychology courses. The experience was extremely rewarding as I gained confidence in communicating and adapting to different needs. In addition, I volunteered at Big Brothers Big Sisters as a mentor and at a harm reduction site where I administered safe supplies.
My volunteer experience broadened my perspective and passion for providing a safe haven that allows for validation, healing, and empathy.
My professional journey as a mental health case worker at a non-profit organization solidified my dedication to being an advocate for mental health. The opportunity to work with diverse populations gave me a deeper understanding of the profuse effect of societal barriers on well-being and circumstances.
I strongly believe in a holistic, culturally sensitive approach as every individual is unique and deserves treatment that aligns with their values. Creating meaningful relationships is my drive and I am inspired when listening to people’s stories and their resilience. I hold deep hope and determination that every individual can get through their darkest days and that brighter days are ahead.
Personal Life
As you can see in my pictures, my animals give me the most joy in my life! Rosa is the best (non-registered) therapy dog who I would carry around everywhere with me if she wasn’t 130 pounds. My family and friends are the most important thing to me, and I appreciate every moment I spend with them.
I love traveling and seeing the beauty of our planet and different cultures. Some other things I cherish are hot yoga, meditation, reading, going to the movies, hikes, and dancing! I used to be a competitive dancer for 15 years and although I do not practice anymore, I love finding opportunities to dance with my friends and partner.
