Education
I am a Registered Psychotherapist Qualifying (RPQ) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), with an eclectic background in psychotherapy modalities. I graduated from McMaster University with
a Hons. B.A.Sc. in Human Behaviour in the spring of 2020. Since then, I have used my time to further my education and received a graduate certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) from Wilfred Laurier University. Additionally, I have completed various training and certificates in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and plan to keep adding to the list! Most notably, I graduated from a Masters of Science Psychotherapy program at McMaster University in 2024!
Work
My professional journey began during my undergraduate years when I worked as a camp coach at a multi-sport camp and sports facility. There, I provided engaging and creative activities for children ages 5 to 14, fostering their development while nurturing a sense of community.
After completing my undergraduate degree, I transitioned to working as a research assistant in the McKinnon Trauma and Recovery Lab at McMaster University. In this role, I gained valuable experience in research methodologies, psychometric testing, and trauma-informed care practices.
Throughout my Masters program, I served as a Youth Support Worker at Good Shepherd, where I worked closely with vulnerable youth aged 16 to 21 experiencing homelessness or street involvement due to various adversities, including trauma, family violence, abuse, neglect, and mental health and addiction issues. As a case manager, I provided person-centred care, advocating for their needs and connecting them with resources to promote overall wellness. This experience deepened my understanding of holistic mental health treatment and strengthened my capacity for empathy and connection.
My diverse background and commitment to ongoing education have equipped me with a comprehensive skill set to support individuals in their journey toward mental health and well-being.
Personal
In my personal life, I enjoy seeking out and experiencing new things to make the most out of this life! I take as many opportunities as I can to travel with my friends or partner, my favourite being Italy or my many Rocky Mountain hiking trips. I’m a big animal lover, a newly big reader (thank you BookTok!), and have played soccer since I was old enough to pay attention to the game (and not get swept up in picking dandelions!). Some of my favourite things are sitting by a campfire, being in the forest or at the beach, listening to some good music, listening to my grandparents life stories, and being in the company of my good friends.
